Educate-Empowerment Initiative

With the rapidly increasing cost of education, a number of capable students are unable to fulfill their aspirations of higher studies. In fact, according to a report by the Institute for Policy Research Studies (PRS), New Delhi, the percentage of students enrolled in class 10th is 77% while the percentage of students enrolled in class 11 is limited to 52%. This clearly depicts the drop-out of students from class 10th to 11th and makes the need for scholarships in India critical and compelling for them. To deal with this drop-out situation, “Biva Himangshu Memorial Trust” in the year 2017 have come up with an Initiative entitled “Educate-Empowerment Initiative” wherein 2 nos. of deserving students belonging to the economically weaker section is selected annually based purely on merit so as to bear all educational and other subsidiary expenses post matric and up-to degree level. It is pertinent to mention here that based on the desire of the selected candidates, they are also being supported fully in their entrance exams like JEE, Medical entrance tests by providing them coaching in reputed institutes while also providing college admission support bearing all related expenditures incurred upto the degree level and providing all suitable aids to meet their financial needs. The Trust has received wide acclaim for such a noble philanthropic effort aimed at providing ample opportunities to economically weaker students to stand in equality with all others in the society.

The detailed list of students (2 nos.) per year who are being selected from among economically backward sections supporting their full educational and other expenses up-to degree level are as follows:-
